Artist History
Mike Newton was born in Michigan USA in September of 1976. First started playing guitar at the age of 12. Mike quickly progressed into the art of heavy metal shredding. After playing in several garage bands that never really made it out of the garage Mike slowly started to aquire a taste for newer types of music. While keeping the strong roots in metal Mike added genre after genre into this tree of diversity which is still growing today. As the styles of music started to branch out the bands unfortunatly did not. After many failed attempts at finding a group of musicians to cover this wide range of musical styles Mike was forced to go it alone and in 97’ Mike aquired a cheap drum machine through a game of chance and began to go beyond being just a guitar player and started to write complete compositions. After failed attempts at financing a studio project on his own in late ‘98 Mike decided to invest in some home recording gear and began to record the first installments of THE HAVOC & HARMONY PROJECT. In November of ‘99 Mike decided to release the demos on the internet for review and helpful criticism to improve the final product. After seeing the rave response from listeners Mike decided to release ”Newton’s Law Of Havoc & Harmony (The Demonstration)” Which is a full length compilation of all the different blends of music currently available from Newton’s Law. Mike plans to have 3 full length CD’s of selected genres released nationaly by the summer of 2001 through his own personal label HAVOC & HARMONY PRODUCTIONS |

Press Reviews
What floats like a butterfly and stings like a bee? The Greatest. What smashes your house down and makes you smile about it? Newtons Law. What do they have in common? They both kick ass. I noticed Mike's BB reviews, what he had to say, what others had to say about him, and decided to check it out myself. I gave it a HiFi radio play (love that DSL!) and thought it was "ok". But something kept bugging me. I went back and listened using my trusty headphones. What was bugging me? THIS GUY ROCKS HIS ASS OFF. SERIOUSLY. And I almost missed it the first time. The more I listened, the more I heard - this was some complex music. Lots of layered guitars, genre blending and bending - a little thrash, a little blues, a little pyscho. But ABOVE ALL - RAWKUNROLL. First and foremost. From a screaming pyschotic tornado (Promissed Lies), to a pyschedelic bubble machine (Love/lust) and back again. All homebrewed by one guy! My overall reaction was similar to the way I feel when I hear Keith Moon (the immortal loon) play drums. It just sorta all comes spilling out, and there's no way to stop it. To top it all off, and seal my fate as a Newtons Law fan - for - life, Mike Newton is a regular good doobie. He has given many honest reviews on the MP3.com BBs, and pointed me towards many good bands. I like Mike's music because it's got a little bit of everything I like in my rock - speed, fury, trippy quirks, and heart. Plus the "music for the people, by the people" approach Mike takes. Plus - this got me off high center, and turned me into a DAM cd buyer. What else can I say? Grab a Q-Tip, clean out yer ears, and LISTEN. RAWKON! _________________________ Review by: Ron (Jingo) Palmer-Columist for: CHANNEL J Check out the indepth interview with Newton's Law at Channel J Archives: www.geocities.com/SouthBeach/Pier/5312/ ed_newtonsl |
