Artist History
Debbie Hennessey grew up on both coasts and began performing in public at age 12. While living in the San Francisco bay area, she studied voice and worked as both a solo act and with bands in several genres - rock, country, pop and Motown. She then moved to Los Angeles to further study music, songwriting and voice. Currently she performs with her band in and around Los Angeles. Debbie's first cd Rustic Heart, produced by Rye Randa, was released in November of 2002 and was quickly embraced by fans. Over the last couple of years she has racked up thousands of plays on her MP3 site, with songs going Top-10 and Top-40 on several different charts.
Rustic Heart has also been well received by radio overseas, even going so far as to hit #4 on a Demark radio stations phone-in poll, Debbie was the only independent artist on the list that included such artists as Martina McBride, Faith Hill and Trisha Yearwood. Other countries that currently play songs from the CD include: Australia, New Zealand, France, Denmark, The Netherlands, Belgium, and Russia.
In May of 2003 the single "Midnight to Cinderella" was officially released to US radio. It ended up as a TOP-20 single on New Music Weekly’s AC40 Chart and in the TOP 100 on the Friday Morning Quarterback’s Top 200 chart. Along the way the song achieved a #1 Debut-Next Up Chart; #1 Chartbound AC40; a Most Added at both New Music Weekly and Friday Morning Quarterback; Top Prime Mover and every week it rated a Stress Trax – a track receiving highest listener response for stations reporting to New Music Weekly. The song is still climbing on the charts so there may still be more good news down the road. US radio promotion is handled by Larry Weir/National Record Promotions.
