Group Members
Joseph David Benaiah (AKA)Capo Born in Kingston Jamaica, professionally Joseph played the guitar with internationally known band Blues Busters, as well as the Debonaires Band. While still a member of the Debonaires Band, Joseph had the opportunity of performing as an opening act for the highly rated international artists such as, Peter Tosh, and Third World. In 1971 Joseph played guitar for the legendary Bob Marley and the Wailers, on their first American Tour. Moving to Miami Florida in 1984, Joseph continued his quest for perfecting his musical abilities by co-writing the albums We Nah Give Up, and Children of Israel. In 1988, as Benaiah's musical director, Joseph took the band to a new and upwardly level, promoting and touring many countries, such as Japan, Paris, Mexico, Brazil, and Canada as well as the US. In 2000 Joseph broadened his abilities by producing and releasing Cds titled Dennis Brown and Friends, Dean Frasier, Fever V.1 Mighty Diamonds' Everlasting and Benaiah's Time Eternal R.Nilajah Born in Miami, FL. Nilajah gained her musical experiences early in life singing in church choirs, school choirs, talent shows, as well as many other musical productions throughout her youth. During 1980, Nilajah gained her Reggae experiences while working with Cedric "IM" Brooks and Natty Scotty. With her writing and vocal experiences, Nilajah joined Benaiah in 1986, and provided exceptional harmonies on We Nah Give Up, Children of Israel, Time Eternal, Dennis Brown and Friends. She co-wrote tunes on these albums, namely, "Roots Man Woman", "Beautiful People", and "A Perfect Start(along with Dennis Brown). While Benaiah instramentally supports numerous international artists, Nilajah's contribution is providing exceptionally blended harmonies with the Band. In 1994 Benaiah won an award for "The Best Live Band in Miami, Fl" In 1999 Benaiah along with the Mighty Diamonds, toured the US on their Summer 1999 Tour. Benaiah has just played in the Vermont Reggae Fest, and also played for renown Reggae artist, Freddie McGregor. May of 2001, Benaiah will tour the US again . See calandar for updates. |
