Artist History Sometimes I feel like every one has a conversion story except me. I can remember certain moments of faling deeper in love with music - trampling on Back and Schubert in high school choir, or mom at the piano singing me to sleep - but there was no blinding flash of light that came to tell me I was to become a musician. A funny thing about callings: they're usually done is spite of one's self; and here I am.As I studied voice in college, I spent nights tewaching myself rock 'n roll standards. This landed my musical identity somewhere between classical tenor and arena rock guitarist; though I dropped out of college long before my own skill could find company with either of these. So I'm in the place now ehere rebels, rejects, and radicals have always felt at home...writing and performing folk songs.I founded Dream Thief Records in early 1998 to promote my music, and to serve as a subtle protest against the exploitation of passionate artists which sometimes occurs at the hands of the commercial music industry. "gasoline rainbow", my first effort while operating with the Dream Thief label, was released in February of 1999. I've reently ended a successful regional promotional campaign for the record, and am now touring in support of a new body of work with the Dream Thief imprint, "Trespass 491".Everyone has gifts, and I might as well be lauded for my hair color as much as for my musical endeavors. It is my purpose, however, to express these gifts that they might awaken in someone a dialogue - between person and God, person and person, person and self. In singing the stories I've been given, in finding and passing along my own unique breath in these words and musical notes, I intend to bring something to people that will stay with them longer and more intimately than the whistle of a familiar melody. In essence, I'm hoping that people will be positively affected by the color of my hair.
