Artist History
February 14th, 2000.Valentine's Day.Three guys in their mid-twenties are working their way through a significant amount of beer and reminiscing about their high school punk band. They are successful now, out of college, each doing well in northern virginia's burgeoning tech industry. And yet, somehow, something failed to die inside them. From that night, The Overprivileged were born. Fast, loud, snotty, thrashy street-punk that hasn't been heard around here since the likes of Minor Threat. They don't fit with the neo-post-punk vegans of DC, they don't fit with the oi bands of baltimore. they don't fit with the legions of touring pop-punk bands. But they play 4 to 7 shows a month, with all types of bands, and have a fucking blast doing it. |
