Press Reviews
"New Band Alert:hot like (A) robot.
Odds of sucsess:nearly assured.
Age:way too Tike-ish to be this good.
Half of San Diego's musicians would burn their Sleater Kinny tickets to create an album as solid as HLAR's self-titled debut.
Their needly guitars suggest ample no knife exposure. But they also amp up the rumble.
Vocalist Jordan can go from genuine falsetto to hardcore screams.,and the band also switches gears well, and often.
Trust me on this one: a new San Diego star is born."-SLAMM "I can’t say enough good things about Hot Like A Robot. This band improves every time I see them, and they are bound to get their band recognized sooner or later. Their first cd was supposed to be released that night but the singer comments, “Well you know how that goes…” The cd wasn’t released but they still played the new stuff which sounded great, as well as all of the older ones off of their demo. Some of the songs they played were “In Pictures,” “Neptune,” and “Personal Favorite.” However my personal favorite was “Cosmetic Overdrive.” The intertwining of the two guitars sounded great and heavily depended on perfect timing. This mixed with the screaming vocals were enough to move any members in the audience. The singer/guitarist would up the excitement factor by coming offstage between the barrier and the stage and just wail on his guitar. What’s a Hot Like A Robot set without destroying something? Last time the poor mascot robot was the victim. This time his nice Gibson guitar took the heat."-SANDIEGOPUNK.COM
