Artist History In The Morning was originally named Apathy, and was formed in the summer of 1998. Original members were Jake Robeck (Guitar and Lead Vocals), Jason Zimmerman (Guitar and Backing Vocals), Derek Pearson (Drums), and Shaun Soltow (Bass). Derek, Jason, Jake and Shaun all played together in various High School music classes and in a number of different bands. After graduating from St. Louis Park Senior High School, Jason began jamming with Jake, eventually adding Derek and Shaun; thus forming Apathy. After releasing a self-titled nine song EP, Apathy began playing shows all over the Twin Cities. They went back to the studio in the summer of 2001 to record a three song demo at OarFin Records. Shortly thereafter, Derek traveled west to study drums at The Music Institute in Los Angeles. While Derek was gone the band was on hiatus, and decided to wait for his return to Minneapolis to continue writing music. Jake, Derek, and Jason all made the decision that there was a need for a new bass player in the group. After trying out several bass players, Jeramy Cain joined the band. With a new bass player and a new sound, the consensus was to find a new name. In The Morning was born in early 2003. They began writing new songs and teaching Jeramy a select few of the older songs. In The Morning performs at many local bars in the Twin Cities including: The Cabooze, The Main Event, The Urban Wildlife, as well as The Library Bar and Grille. The most recent addition to the In The Morning catalogue is a seven song EP released in late August 2003.
