Artist History
WeThePeople was founded in the fall of 2000, the product of years of collaboration between Keith Warshany and Dan Blau. After a number of unsuccessful projects, the two found drummer Wes Hare, who quickly assumed the role as the backbone of the WTP rhythm section. In a few short months, the band won a local battle of the bands in January of 2001 (with former members - singer Eric Heiss and bassist Pavel Yarmolenko). As the band continued to define its sound, they located bassist Jay Rehm in summer 2001, whose thunderous basslines were an immediate fit. Frustrated with their inability to add a dynamic vocalist to the lineup, the boys nearly dissolved WTP in August 2001. But a classified ad, a twist of fate, and a few exchanges of words introduced them to Jimi Cole. Less than 3 days after their first meeting, Jimi stepped up to the mic before an audience, and WeThePeople was born. In May 2002, Dan Blau left WTP to pursue other interests, but vocalist Cole was quick to pick up his axe to fill in the void left by Blau's departure.

Press Reviews
"WeThePeople is all about rock and roll, pure and simple. They describe themselves as a "hard-hitting, foot-stomping, bluesy rock group." An accurate description, but what it leaves out is the clean precision that comes through in every song, whether it be a power chord-driven anthem or a softer, more subdued ballad. It is the sound of musicians who have been playing together long enough to know how to make everything fit together with nothing left over.
The funny thing is, they haven't."
