    Artist description
Hailing from New York City, Red Tin has its creative roots in the eclectic artistic group, La Camarata. Its two founding members, Justin Biaggi and Jared DiDomenico, combine their multi-instrumental skills to write and record the music, while friends join to round out live performances. Using rock as a base, Red Tin explores anything that moves and interests them, including influences of jazz, funk, Indian, Spanish, and classical musics, with much more to come. No style or approach is overlooked, nothing is deemed impossible to explore or fuse, and the moods and lyrics range from playful to the sublime. Many already are looking for Red Tin to become like the city they call home; a melting pot, a meeting of energies, a center.
    Music Style
Rock/Alternative: Using these broad labels/traditions/whatevers as a base, Red Tin explores many styles and approaches, and depending on the mood and tempo, the songs either hum or burst with inspired energy.

    Artist History
Red Tin is a new group but has been many years in the making. The music is the synthesis of the writing and performances of two creative artists from New York City, Justin Biaggi and Jared DiDomenico. The two have been longtime friends and grew up with a loose artistic collective, whose work can be seen on www.potg.com (changing to www.lacamarata.com early 2003). Both have been music lovers their whole lives and musicians from an early age. Though they had worked together creatively while growing up, both musically and otherwise, it was not until late 1999 that they decided to put their energies primarily into music. Since Jared was away at college, they had to wait until the summer of 2000 to recorded a six song home demo entitled Nobody Knows. With limited resources the two wrote, performed, and recorded the entire album, which uses rock as a base to explore influences of jazz, funk, Indian, Spanish, and classical music. The effort quickly garnered attention, as New York writer Christian Capozzoli had it top his list of "The Best Music You've Never Heard." Red Tin went back to work in the summer of 2001, recording another six songs at Brad's apartment with better equipment. The tracks from 2001's "Red Tin" were added to web sites in December 2001, and continue what was established on "Nobody Knows," while still greatly expanding the sound. These recordings (which are the ones here on mp3.com) are of course very rough and were used as a means to build the songwriting partnership and recording instincts of Red Tin. They are still, ultimately, sketches. 2001 also saw Jared and Justin work extensively on Brad Naprixas' album, which will comprise an hour's worth of music. Red Tin's work and sound is always growing, as they are perpetually crafting new ideas. As of early 2003, (now that Jared is back in NY full time), Red Tin will be auditioning and rehearsing a live band, start playing shows in the New York City area, and begin to campaign for the recording and release of their first professional album.
