Press Reviews
What we have here, is a success to communicate. Now, Urban Tapestry is inhabited by 3 weird folk women who believe that the past should be visited upon the present. Therefore, you get your 'Technonerdboy' and 'Web Surfin'', sandwiching the 14 songs actually, spun in an acoustic, well, folk way that makes you smile, laugh out loud, hmmmm, or hit the guy next to you. Lyrically, they can't be beat. They do come up with some clever and cute twists and ideas. 'Sex and Chocolate' comes immediately to mind. Hard to believe it's clocked at less than 3 minutes, considering all the images and HA! they cram into this tale of a woman's 2 favorite pastimes. Tain't all humor, don't you worry. There is sheer beauty, brought into being by just 3 charmed souls. Allison Durno is vocals and guitar. Jodi Krangle is vocals and piano. Debbie Ridpath Ohi is flute and tambourine. Nice, flowing harmonies follow throughout the entire piece. What a team! --Ben Ohmart for The Muse's Muse (www.musesmuse.com) |
