Artist description
Straight out of Dallas with a sound that's as big as Texas, Altered's unique signature style is a product of diversity and experience. Each member trademarks a unique style and quality built from varied and abundant experience and influences. With limited finances for recording, a small, privately run in-home recording studio was used to record Bloodshot Eyes. With Bernie Grundman Mastering adding the final touches, the cd was a huge success considering it was only to be a demo. This CD, containing the instant hits "Change" and "Something's Wrong", were their foot into the local Dallas/Ft. Worth scene. Paying their dues as a new and unknown local act in the Dallas/Ft. Worth marketplace, Altered averaged a show per week by the first anniversary of their inception date while maintaining their creativity, and developing and streamlining the business aspects of the band. Their musicianship, professionalism, powerful performances, unique marketing approaches, and dedication to their growing fan and support bases have catapult them from a small Thursday night local act into the headlining regional machine they have become.
The future of Altered is focused like a laser in the minds of each member of the band. Their momentum and commitment to each other and their vision carries them through any obstacle brought to bar their progress. The band is currently in the process of creating and setting a nationwide tour in place that will enable Altered to be brought to so many of the fans that have asked for shows around the country. In the upcoming months, expect to see Altered moving towards national and international coverage as the band takes their music to the global marketplace.

Press Reviews
Their first album, Bloodshot Eyes (Plantation X Records, Nov. 9th, 2002) is a compilation of works considered to be the most descriptive of the bands diverse capabilities. From the melodic tones and extensive harmony work featured in Change and Again, to the powerfully heavy sound of the title song Bloodshot Eyes and Get Your Trimm, or the diversity seen in the vocal approach and funky groove in Sippin Dippin Trippin, the album carries you on a journey through multiple genres and is essentially a portfolio. When asked about the creation of this album, Altered was quick to respond. We wanted people to see how creative we really are. We have so much diversity in this group when it comes to influences. This is an album where theres a song for everyone, rock, nu-metal, rap, folk, country, pop, it has all the elements in it. |
