    Artist description
Her sound can be all at once lilting and peaceful only to burst out of nowhere with an intense vocal ability that makes you wonder where she keeps her other set of lungs. "Power-house vocals… knock-em dead hooks…" is how Bill Pritchard, former owner of the award- winning Madison's Café and Music House, in Seattle, Washington, describes her.EMPLive.com says Susan Robkin has "...truly powerhouse vocals that can knock you right out of your chair. To see her live performance is to be swept away by not only her talent, but by the disarming combination of polish and vulnerability, command and candor, that she effortlessly expresses onstage. Her songwriting talent is no less enchanting..."

    Artist History
Although classically trained in voice as a child, Susan spent most of her young adult life thinking about other things besides music. In 1997 on a dare she wrote her first song. Soon after she decided it was time to try her hand at being a performing songwriter. Not one to wait around for someone to do something for her, Susan decided it was best to take the bull by the horns and see what she could accomplish. Turns out, a great deal could be accomplished! Since 1999 Susan has released two albums and has been featured on compilation albums. She met a few of her band mates while in Tennessee making her first record, and then moved back to her home state and added a few more players. Susan now plays out constantly and has most recently won several SAMIE awards (Seattle Area Music Innovation and Excellence) including Female Vocalist of the Year, Album of the Year for "how to say goodbye" and Pop/Rock Album of the Year for "how to say goodbye". Producer and Engineer Brent DeRocher also picked up Producer of the Year and Engineer of the Year for his work on Susan's album.
