Artist description
Sulky Beat are from Mannheim, Germany and play popmusic with punk- and skaelements // SULKY BEAT – founded in October 1999 - first introduced their single „Secretaries have Feelings too“ in summer of 2000. SULKY BEAT stands for beautiful, catchy melodies that will remain in your memory as well as high level, melancholic lyrics that don't neccessarily make the impression of having been written by a sulky secretary. Sulky Beat IS primarily Micah Hammon and her extraordinary voice (compositions and lyrics). Micah has worked with famous musicians and bands in Germany (Liquido, Busters, Pyogenesis) and has published various works during the past years. But what would Sulky Beat be without the bandmembers Ralph Guramy (bass), Thorsten (drums) who perfectly complement eachother as the rhythmsection as well as guitarist G. Artist History
Thorsten, G, Ralph and Micah were born in the slums of Mannheim and turned into drones who spent their youth hanging out at the industrial harbor at the outskirts of the city until social workers made them part of the working population. Well, that was the end of their lives as drones. The Four developed to useful links in the chain of society. They all made careers and lost track of eachother for several years. When they finally met again they decided to quit their jobs and found a band. Their music can be heard out of a cellar down at the Mannheim harbour and now also on CD: "Secretaries have Feelings too" by Sulky Beat |
