Artist History
Shane Law is a laid back Harlem-mite with a soulful, "up-close and personal" sound that appeals to all ages. He puts forth a masculine, urban image, present in his music, lyrics and look, which breaks through gender barriers. His music is creative; with simple, easily understood lyrics that people want to hear. Together, these characteristics equal a total package that breaks down race walls, rendering Shane a universal commodity. "And then there were record sales". Shane has an extensive musical background, which includes singing in his church choir, Classical and jazz piano instruction, various performances, i.e. Apollo and local talent contest, vocal & keyboard training, college choir, college etc. He received his first inspirations for the pursuit of a musical career, watching people like Steveie Wonder, Donnie Hathaway, Marvin Gaye, Al Green, and Charlie Wilson. He received his first piano lesson at the age of 8, from his grandmother, and his first choir solo at the age of 6 in the first grade. He grew up listening to the music theories and styling of His Uncle Bernard Perdie, a world renowned drummer, whose jazz albums have sold Throughout the world, and continues to sell and be sampled in today's urban music. Shane is a strong melodic writer and versatile producer. His influences range from Stevie Wonder, as stated earlier, to acts of today such as Brian McKnight, Arron Hall, Babyface, R.Kelly, Jodeci, and Teddy Riley. The Shane Law project represents The kind of innovative soul, hip-hop, and R&B classics that will still be played 10 years from now.In assessment of Shane’s artistic spectrum, He has been described as an an R&B L.L. Kool J. with the soul of Harlem Don Blues “Music should evolve”. It’s a new millennium and a New era. “Just listen to the music”. |
