Artist description
We are a Christian hip hop group that has committed to spread the Word of God. Rhymes Elect is currently represented by two emcees, but is a larger family made up of others that contribute heavily to the cause of Jesus Christ. As God sees fit, the group could grow as the ministry is directed to grow. |

Artist History
Rhymes Elect began as a rap ministry in Ames, Iowa in 1996. Members saw the need to interpret the gospel through the means of hip hop (yes even in the middle of Iowa) in order to reach a generation whose "spot, is not the spot of His children" (Deut. 32:5). Our first opportunity came on an inner city missions trip (I.C.U.M.M.) to Chicago. Eventually the message was brought back to Iowa and the ministry began to grow. Since then, the ministry has been able to spread the message in Alabama, Missouri, Ohio, and Tennessee. Many lives have been changed by the introduction of Jesus Christ through the outlet of Christian Hip hop. The group has been blessed with the opportunity to present this message by producing a cd with the help of 4-TRESS studios in Johnson City, TN. Though our history goes back 6 years, it is continuing to be written as God sees fit. Pray that we continue in His divine order. |
