Artist History
Started in early 1998 by guitarist Adam McLaughlin, drummer Adam Sutton, and bassist Jimmy Grendzinski in the small town of East Hampton, Connecticut, Muted started out jamming as a 3 piece band without a vocalist. As more songs became written, the need for a vocalist became greater as Jimmy was writing unsung lyrics.
Muted started looking for vocalists and couldn't find out to fit their style as time passed. In December of the same year, Frank Tuck moved to town and was quick friends with the members of Muted, and in the fall of 1999, he joined the band to add a second-guitarist edge to their style. Being fed up with not having a singer, Adam McLaughlin found it a good time to put down his guitar and pick up the mic to test out his vocal skills, completing Muted as a full band. Soon after, Mauricio Ayala joined the band to become the second singer.
Muted started inviting friends to their practices to check the band out, and after the just started Derailed bassist Marcus Gish picked up Jimmy's bass at a practice in mid-2000, they knew it was time for a new bassist. A few months later, after jamming a few times while Jimmy was busy and couldn't practice, Marcus was taken into the band and Jimmy was soon kicked out.
Things were going good, and Marcus was able to learn all the songs and start on new ones, because of the slow progress of his other band due to the lack of a drummer. Derailed finally found a drummer, but kicked him out for Scott from Nut-ron, who could practice more, and soon Nut-ron split up, bringing him to just Derailed. Things started getting complicated, and after showing "too much dedication" to Muted, Marcus was kicked out of Derailed, and could focus on his main band, Muted, where it all went uphill.
Muted started to rapidly progress and started writing more powerful, hard-hitting songs, and bringing in more fans, but then their guitarist, Frank, had to move to Tennessee... For a while, Adam moved back to guitar, with Mauricio on vocals. More songs were written, and time passed, Frank moved back to Connecticut and the band has since started playing shows.
