Artist History
KDB3 is primarily a solo studio entity. Doug Bowers is a multi-instrumentalist singer-songwriter who occasionally gets out to play a music festival, private gathering, or worship service at St. Simon's on the Sound Episcopal Church. Doug began his music carreer in the early 70s. His various hard rock bands played the rough watering holes in coal mining communities around Morgantown, WV. A short stint with a contemporary Christian band in 1977 introduced Doug to a different approach to musical expression. The "different approach" didn't stick, but the seed had been planted. A rowdy college bar band, a move to the gulf coast of Florida and a couple of classic rock & reggae bands later, Doug found himself in the proverbial musical rut. He put together a small studio in the house he shares with his wife Phyl and their furry critters and tried his hand at song writing. The initial attempts were a waste of magnetic tape. By 1990, Doug had become a member of St. Simon's on the Sound and, in the choir, found another way to express himself musically. The song writer in him still needed a muse. (remember the seed) A late night conversation with God led to a redirecting of whatever song writing talent He might bestow on a wannabe song writer. He has been writing and performing as KDB3 since 1999. |
