Artist description
Born and raised in Santa Monica, CA., Ben Hammer has been writing and playing music for 22 years. He has written for the films "For One's Country" and "love.com". He has also written music for commercials and musical theater. In 1993 he wrote background and transitional music for "Lady Make Believe" a children's story tape series by world famous voice-over artist June Foray. He has also written music partnered with cartoonist Dave Shelton for such events as The Special Olympics Opening Ceremonies at both the annual Los Angeles event, and the nationally televised world event in 1999. Ben and Dave also wrote music for The Penny Lane Foundation annual "Power Source Day" an event to promote recovery for abused/battered children.He has perfomed on various albums including Hugh Fergusen's "Follow My Heart" produced by Paul McKenna (Sting, Barry Manilow). In the past he has worked/collaberated/recorded on sessions with industry veterans such as John Hart (LTD)and Prarie Prince (The Tubes).These days he is aggressively pushing to promote his career as a composer for film, tv and new-media. |
