Artist History
One of the top Southern California Show Bands of the early 60's, "The Nocturnes" were known for their versatility in playing musical styles ranging from surf to blues. The Nocturnes appeared at all the major showrooms of the era and included original members Paul Floodman, Kurt Steinbeck and Bruce McCoy. When the group was offered to appear at the first "Rendezvous Ballroom Reunion" at the Hardrock Cafe in 1999 with the other legendary groups of the surf music era, they decided to reform the band. To fill out the group, Paul, Kurt and Bruce enlisted lead guitarist Rick Bastrup of the 60's show and recording group "The Avengers VI". With the later addition of sax player Richard Ferrin, the new Nocturnes were complete. |
