Artist History
Soda, the twenty-two year old vocalist, is heading to America. Her self-titled debut album is being released this Spring with two tracks that have already garnered huge success in Europe.Soda a.k.a Anne J. Wick has been interested in singing before she can even remember. "While my mother was pregnant she used to sing to me. It was something so embedded in me from early on. I actually began to sing before I could talk!" While in her teens, she began writing songs and singing as a back-up vocalist in a number of local bands. But the turning point for her career came in when she was approached by a couple of guys who needed a vocalist for a band they were forming and felt she had the perfectcombination of vocal strength and sexiness to fill the role.Choosing an alias that reflected her carefree and bubbly attitude, Anne chose her stage name as "Soda". Anne's stage performance and distinctive voice easily made her a natural front-person of the group thus convincing the band to change the name of the band after Soda.Soda found herself surrounded by band members with various influences ranging from reggae, electronica, pop, and dance. Finding a bond with co-band member, Frank Pederson, Soda and Frank came to write the pop tunes together and immersed themselves into the various musical influences around them. I've been writing since I was 12, and singing and dancing as far back as I can remember. I really feel like I'm at my best when I'm in the limelight, reaching as many people as possible." With gold and platinum albums in Norway, Soda became the star attraction on her tour. It was about this time when Soda caught the eye of Turn Music a new label venture signed to Edel Entertainment. They were thrilled with her fresh, feisty edge, and sign Soda as a solo artist.With a sound that is funky and smooth, cheery and sexy all at the same time, this singer/writer/dancer is excited to bring her fresh sound to the U.S., "I've always been a hard-worker, who sets high goals for myself.
