Artist History
Five years ago I was in my first band called Daddy-04. We were an Indie-Punk band (meaning that me and the singer wanted to be an indie band and the bass player and drummer wanted to be a punk band so we compromised... since me and the singer wrote the songs we played indie songs... but just really really fast.)We were only together for two summers. I then tried starting bands with other people none of which ever actually happened; except one, Mercy For Pop Music, which was a band i had with my friend Steve (who produced the album) that only played one show... for both of these bands i played guitar. So for two or three years i was bandless and lost. I wanted to play punk shows but was too selfconscious to play solo... eventually my friend put me on a punk show so i got over myself and played a show, and went over not too badly, and Not Without My Handbag! was born. Though technically i guess i'm a solo act i call it a band. My first drummer wasmy friend Danny Fenner, and the next was Alex Kerns of The Young Ones... And though right now i don't have a drummer it's still a band because it's not meant to be a solo act. |
