Press Reviews
MOSHABLE - Issue #19 "Fortunately I can read Long Gone Loser, a small A5 sized zine outta Australia. The first issue has big features on The Hellacopters and Dwarves, an article about love for the 3 chords that make us all rock, Fu Manchu, Repo and a retrospective article about glam rock. Add some reviews and a healthy fanzine attitude that makes you realize why fanzines are so much more fun to read compared to all the mainstream bullshit. I read it cover to cover." - Lars Krogh CAT SCRATCH FEVER #3 "Interviews with the Donnas, Adam West, New Bomb Turks & the Mr T. Experience. Feature on girls in punk, and cool reviews of the right kinds rock. Lotsa lewd n’ nude to boot ! A steal at only $1. Nice work Damo !" - Colin Gray BLACK VELVET - Issue #23 "Wow - here's a hot rocking zine. This is the sort that once you bury your head in it, you won't be able to let go of until you've read it from cover to cover. Whether you're into glam and sleaze, punk, good ol' rock n' roll, or even cybersex (yep, Damo interviews an online porn star) you'll be entertained non-stop. The Donnas are on the cover and there's an article on 'yummy yummy punk rock girls!'. Hey Damo, you need me in there next time! All this for only Aus$1." - Shari CARBON 14 - Issue #17 "This is a cool little digest sized number from Australia; editor/publisher Damo has filled his zine with all the things that set his heart aflutter - girls, punk rock, girls who play punk rock, matchbox cars and porno. Who can blame him? With the exception of matchbox cars I like all those things as well. In this issue there's interviews with the Donnas, Adam West, New Bomb Turks, Mr T Experience and a cyber-sex worker named Ashley as well as essays on the aforementioned punk rock girls and matchbox cars, reviews, a Probe-esque intro where Damo tells us all about his life and more." - Leslie MOSHABLE - Issue #20 "If this zine had an ass there would come rock'n'roll in chunks out of it. From Australia, Long Gone Loser is an A5 zine dedicated to rock'n'roll and bands like The Donnas, New Bomb Turks and Adam West. This time with a couple of personal stories, lots of reviews and naked chicks. Nice little zine." - Lars Krogh BETTY PAGINATED - Issue #22 "#3 has tons of band interviews including The Muffs and Turbonegro. Plus Damo's fun day at Melbourne Sexpo, The Dukes Of Hazzard and more. Recommended." - Dann CAT SCRATCH FEVER - Issue #4 "Interviews with the Muffs, Bob Long, Wonderfools, Turbonegro, Weaklings, Nunchukka Superfly, plus a great piece on the Dukes of Hazard. Cool reviews of the right kinda rock. Lotsa lewd n’ nude to boot ! A steal at only $1." - Colin Gray THE FALL OF BECAUSE - Issue #7 "Raw power I can fEEl it! More rock than a hard loaf of bread, which looks like a rock and on closer inspection IS actually a rock! Interviews with the Muffs, the Wonderfools, Nunchukka Superfly, the Weaklings etc. Damo and Leah's trip to sexpo '99, the Dukes of Hazzard, and a shite load of reviews. Personally though, other than Nunchukka Superfly, I couldn't really give two fake vomit factories about most of these bands, so the read was a little on the light side for me. But anything Damo does is fine by me and is always pure rock! (Can I have those security photos of me back now?)" - James CAT SCRATCH FEVER - Issue #6 "...Still on zines, the bigger and brasher 'Long Gone Loser' also arrived. Now an A4 number with colour cover, this 4th issue has now put this zine up there as probably the best Oz zine around. Run buy a cat from Adelaide who also plays in powerhouse rockers Muscle Car, you'd be pretty hard to please if you didn't find something in here to your liking. Interviews and features with Nashville Pussy, Hardcore Superstar, Speedealer, Spitfires, the Hookers etc. Damo has just as many interviews with the worlds hottest porn stars which make for a damn interesting read. In fact I couldn't put the interview down with Bobbie Brown, former Hollywood starlet and groupie supreme to all those late 80's cheese metallers. Good stuff and me thinks more of it to come. This will set you back only $6" - Colin Gray PEE - Issue #17 "Long Gone Loser has gone and all grown up since the last issue. No longer content on doing a zine, editor Damo has gone the whole hog and produced a full size magazine complete with colour cover. The new LGL is still a rock n roll mag only now it's all crammed full of hot naked women. Kinda along the same lines as that other awesome A4 mag Betty Paginated. I got this a few days ago and I still haven't read it all. There's loads in here, including interviews with Royal Crown Review, The Hasselhoff Experiement, Speedealer, Lunachicks and shit loads more like a chat with porn star Asia Carrera! Pages of views and reviews... you get the picture, now get the loser!" - Pete |
