    Artist History
Separation Estate was formed in August of 1999. Jimmy Clark lead vocalist was playing guitar and writing all the music. But after about two weeks guitarist Damon Hallmark stepped up presenting songs he had written changing the music direction. Most of the early songs by Jimmy were dropped and Damon became the main songwriter, but with Jimmy still writing the lyrics shapeing the songs and the mood of the band. The band somehow took on a much heavier and angrier tone than intended, and this anger was not without merit, Jimmy tapped deep into himself for the lyrics written. Within two months they had 10 songs, and were playing shows with other local bands in the Birmingham AL area. They had developed a good following, shows were packed and practice sessions were always crowded. On a very small budget the band went into the studio to record five songs in Dec 99. Recorded in only two nights, the five song E.P. would later be titled "Truth in Numbers". The cd was never intended for sale at shows, just as part of a press package to book more shows and for friends of the band. The band was surely on the road to success but personal conflicts would bring the end of Separation Estate. March 4, 2000, they played the Five Points South Music Hall; a place were national acts such as Korn, Limp Bizkit, Creed, and Smashing Pumpkins had all played. It would turn out to be their biggest show, and also the last. Eric Lawson later went on to Help form "Faith Remain", but left shortly after. Jimmy and Mikal joined with Joel Owen and James Wahl of the band "2120" to form "Promise the Ghost"...Go listen to the song "Quiet Falls" here at MP3.com, and go visit the Ghost at www.promisetheghost.com.
