Artist description
Marc Steven is a solo artist currently producing his debut album "The Darker Side Of Love". Many of the songs have been work in progress since 1995 and span a variety of musical genres. The central theme of the album is love and all the challenges one must meet in finding it. Apart from being a vehicle for self-expression, "The Darker Side Of Love" attempts to engage the listener in exploring love in the context of their own experiences, successes and failures. Marc's use of various musical genres exemplifies how sound and mood are intertwined and provides a fresh and musically diverse approach to this great theme. Marc wrote, performed and produced in its entirety the music/lyrics for each song. The songs are currently not professionally produced but rather were recorded in Marc's bare bones home studio. The demo songs are work in progress and will be updated as re-work is completed. The initial goal was to have the songs' basic concept/sound available, essentially viable and demonstrable, to approach record labels and for family/friends and the greater music community to enjoy. Driven by his life long passion for song and innate musical gift, Marc is compelled to take on and complete this project as one of his life's missions. To know that other human beings were entertained or touched by these works is to have accomplished this mission. |
