Press Reviews
That weekend in S.F., they played a late-night boat party that was outta control. Giant People ain't the straight ahead dance funk as you may be used to from Carlos (but as an ordained Minister of Funk... let me assure you that it is damn funky), but Giant People incorporate more influences from straight ahead jazz, classical music, soul music and even techno / trance. Giant People are also breaking down some of the assumptions and barriers in music. I think they have one song suite that runs over 2 hours long... experimental, funky, and completely non-commerical.. ya gotta did that... go see Carlos and Giant People when they hit your town... maybe you should be a GIANT. - Big Daddy Woo Woo, Online Music Critic - jambase.com, November 20, 2000 |
