    Elliot Wimbush was raised in Chicago's near west suburbs andcurrently resides in Hillside with his wife of twelve years,Marijo, and their three young sons, Aaron, Caleb and Samuel.Elliot can't remember a time in his life without music. "Therewas always music in our house. My mother and father sang aroundthe house, my two older brothers played instrument and were inbands as I grew up," he said. "I listened to everything fromMahalia Jackson to Michael Jackson. What I know aboutharmonics, I learned from listening to Barry Manilow. I lovealmost every kind of music and throughout my life, in anysituation, where there has been music...there has been hope."A singer since childhood, Wimbush was a member of youth choirsfrom grade school through college, moving with ease betweenchurch choirs, swing choirs and madrigal ensembles. Raised aBaptist and called to the Roman Catholic Church as a youngadult, Wimbush always found joy in sacred music."It's the most important thing that I do. Each song I sing is alove song. I sing what I believe. My ministry molds andmaintains me as a parent and as a husband...it is the peg thatholds the rest of my life together," Wimbush said.Wimbush is a Master Cantor and associate to the ChicagoArchdiocese Office for Divine Worship. He is the longtimeMinister of Music at St. Eulalia in Maywood and the Cantor atSt. Norbert in Northbrook. He is a visiting worship leader atSt. James in Arlington Heights, Our Lady of the Brook inNorthbrook, St. Alphonsus in Lemont, St. Vincent Ferrer in RiverForest, and St. John of the Cross in Western Springs.He has presided over sung prayer for exciting and pivotalliturgies, including the installation of cardinals andordinations of deacons, priests and bishops. He was a guestsoloist at the funeral mass for Cardinal Bernardin and, at therequest of Monsignor Kenneth Velo, he was a soloist at thefuneral of Cardinal Bernardin's mother, Maria.As a Worship Leader, Wimbush is known and respected nationallyfor his ritual work at myriad conferences and conventions. Asa motivational speaker, he has shared his insights for livingwith parish leadership groups as well as corporate managementorganizations, including Holy Cross Health Systems and Ameritech.After completing studies at Northern Illinois University,DeKalb, and on the west coast, Wimbush married and successfullyjuggled a career with Ameritech, his growing family, musicministry and involvement in area theatre. Commenting on hisdecision to leave the corporate world and focus full-time ondeveloping vox humana™ ministries, Wimbush said, "I call thisventure 'vox humana', the human voice, because it allows me touse the gift that I have been given. I feel blessed to be ableto use my joy of life to bring others to the joy in theirs. Ibelieve that vox humana™ ministries is a natural extension ofwork I have always done, expertise I have acquired, and passionI have always felt. It is unique in its application in bothsacred and secular environments."
