    Artist History
Bohemian Sunrise is the fastest-progressing original six-piece 'jamband' in the Delaware Valley market. The South Jersey-based band takes their raw, rhythmic sound to unprecedented levels through their creative instrumentation and genre-transcending arrangements. Bucking traditional jamband styles, Bohemian Sunrise has stretched into Afro-Cuban rhythms and brings the “cool & easy” vibe of reggae to the mix. This tasteful mix of styles brings a cross-appeal that cements their place in the jamband world while luring in an entirely new audience with a sound that rings of “a balmy, summer night in the islands.” Building their success through hard work and consistently winning over audiences at prime shows throughout their career, Bohemian Sunrise has earned the honor of sharing the stage with The Other Ones and Ziggy Marley & the Melody Makers at the Tweeter Center, and the String Cheese Incident at 'An Incident in the Hills'. Bohemian Sunrise has also gained a following in the clubs opening for headliners including Rusted Root, Vince Welnick, The Recipe, Jazz Mandolin Project, Deep Banana Blackout, The Bomb Squad, and Vinyl at venues including the Trocadero, the Conduit, MD's Recher Theater, the legendary Stone Balloon in Delaware and Philadelphia’s famous Electric Factory. Bohemian Sunrise diversifies their schedule by combining opening for national acts in larger venues with headlining venues like the North Star Bar, The Stanhope House and The Fire. To bring in 2003, they sold out their New Year's SleepOver Shindig, one in a series of successful self-produced shows. Unswerving dedication and making the most of every opportunity have helped to elevate them into the professional, talented force they have worked hard to become. In September 2001, the band independently released their first album, 'Soulstice'. In mid-2003, they released their second album, 'Intoxicating', which features tracks recorded live during a huge party they hosted at Indre Studios. Each track complements the others, illuminating their musical growth as songwriters in exploration of an array of cultural styles. Merchandising is also an integral part of this band’s business and their list of unique items includes tees, tanks, stickers, and CDs. Bohemian Sunrise has consistently proven their ability and broadened their elemental sound to appeal to both long-standing and new fans. Their talent, creativity, professionalism and understanding of their place in the market continue to support their ambition and elevate their success.

    Press Reviews
Bohemian Sunrise Delivers a Heady Dose of Jam 'Intoxication' by Bacon - Phreshwater.com - August 11, 2003 "My favorite song is easily 'Apu the Pimp'. Both the title and song are amazing. This jazzy horn driven instrumental features a full percussive sound with lots of nice composed parts and a good driving rhythm. The keys fill in nicely at the end as the sax repeats the melody." Printer-Friendly Bohemian Sunrise is a jam band on the move by Robert Hicks - The Express-Times - August 8, 2003 "...Bohemian Sunrise has developed into a jam band that embraces everything from jazz, funk and reggae to Afro-beat, Latin, and Cuban music." Jimi Chiara: "I'd say we've grown more eclectic...we've steered away from rock to the world music scene." 200 dpi image Sun also rising for Phila.-based jam band by Scott Cronick - Press of Atlantic City - August 1, 2003 "Bohemian Sunrise may be catching fire because the band taps into so many different musical genres. Heavily influenced by Latin music, Chiara defines his band's sound as "tropidelic" because of its island grooves." "They have worked very hard on their craft and they are very good to their fans." We listen to everything ... from rock and blues to contemporary world music. And, at the same time, we all still love rap. The main idea with a jam band is that you can play any type of music...it's really important to us to have good songwriting too." Read more The Vibrant Colors of Bohemian Sunrise by A.D. Amorosi - City Paper Icepack - July 10, 2003 "...the vibrant colors of Philly’s Indre-recorded Afro-Cubano jam band, Bohemian Sunrise, are revealed on their new CD, Intoxicating..."
