Artist History
Lenny Supera grew up diggin' '70's AM radio, as well as KISS and Alice Cooper albums. In his teens, he got into heavier stuff like Van Halen, Sabbath, Judas Priest, etc., picked up a guitar, and within a year was playing all over the Reno/Carson City area. Around the age of 21, he was inspired by guitarists such as Joe Satriani and Steve Vai to start recording guitar instrumental albums, although he was also inspired by studio masterpieces like The Beach Boys' "Pet Sounds", The Beatles' "Revolver" and Todd Rundgren's "Something/Anything". Lenny has released three acclaimed guitar albums (Fool's Gate, Technical Difficulties and Comin' At Ya). For samples, check out the Lenny Supera mp3.com site! Lenny's Lunatics started in 1999 when Lenny's pop sensibilities finally took over and he started writing all these songs with lyrics. So, he took them up to Adam's (near Seattle) and they cut them sporadically over the next two years. Friends contributed when they could find the time. The extended single "Further Down" was released in March 2001 and did well. The "Snarl" album (released January 2002) features a remixed version of "Down" plus eight new songs and the "Further Down" dance mix (a personal favorite!) As of January 2002, the band is gearing up for some shows, and they will be announced as they come up. The second Lunatics album (currently titled "Second Best") is already half done and should be out next year! |
