Press Reviews
June 15, 2000 "Amps were turned to 11 in the southwest crotch of Bernie's Saturday (June 10, 2000 also playing, Twin Cam, Black Love and Behemoth) as local quartet the KINGRODS delivered a mild thrashing to the bagel-basement faithful.Raw but poised, the four men gave the half-empty joint some beer-fueled rock to chomp on in the closing hour. It was the usual, really, which is good, if you're in the mood for songs about white trash, double-wide pleasure and grass. Most of the criteria for a successful show at Bernie's was met: the music was incendiary enough to warrant the outstretched arms of the the throng near the band. Don B. muscled the singer for a cameo, the crowd was cursed and insulted, and the singer tugged at the ceiling guts. All in all, a solid B - with extra points for the singer inviting everyone to his house after the show." -- Canaan Faulkner, The Other Paper. |
