    Press Reviews
Fronted by singer/songwriter Nikki Lunden (guitar) and Natalie Brown (violin, mandolin), this exceptional quartet has been one of the area's hardest-working and fastest-rising acts since its debut with "Fountain Pen nies" early in the year. Their haunting sound is based in folk- and blues-oriented rock, but rapidly developing chops give them plenty of horsepower to kick it up a few notches, and they'll do just that. (Note: Lun d en and Brown also will perform Wednesday as a duo at Uptown Bill's Small Mall.) --Iowa City Press Citizen, Jim Musser, November 1, 2001 ---- Local newcomers The Trollies convey a lilting, folk-rock approach on their debut disc, "F ou ntain Pennies" but color all that with a sassy, blues-rock edge onstage. Spunky vocalist/guitarist Nikki Lunden sings tough but pretty; Natalie Brown is a wonder on violin and mandolin, and the rhythm section of bassist Rory Hartkemeyer and drummer Seth K oenig anchors the passionate, original material. A band to watch. ---Jim Musser, Iowa City Press-Citizen, May 24, 2001 `
