Artist History
-From a bunkhouse in Northern Alberta to your stereo . . . The Autumn Maple Leaves have made it from hard times to good times, through heartbreak and joy, thick and through thin, flapjacks and syrup, etc. and so forth. Their successes as entertainers, as lovers, as athletes, and as human beings have made them one of the greatest and most enduring acts of rock and roll slash jazz slash funk slash hip-hop slash techno-trance slash salsa slash blues history. -The maple leaves started on the top of the world - literally - in icy northern Alberta. They made it to the States and the rest of the world in the early 70's till a horrendous and ruthlessly consistent flow of bad luck struck them through the late 70's and early 80's. What would have shattered any other band just made the maple leaves' steadfast dedication to their music that much stronger. They were superhuman, till rumors that their entire act was a fat phony façade. Regardless of what you may think of them now, their eclectic collection of multicultural, multinational sounds has shaken the world of music. Their success is unparalleled as is their legend. |
