    Artist History
Tony; Keep up the uplifting words and works, you're a very rare soul in hip-hop....which has gone mostly downhill spiritually since the early 90's. Peace! ++++++++++++++++Afrika Bambaata World Come on now, you know the story! I've been recording all of my life in 1985 I got serious. I'm a Rapper/ Poet yadda yadda, yadda yadda! I'm sick of all the sob stories about what people have been through. Rappers without fathers, growing up in the hood, selling drugs. AAAAHHHH!!!!! I'm a Mommers boy! I ain't hard, and ain’t trying to be! Yes I said ain’t! I have a beautiful wife and three beautiful kids. I spend more time at Church than some rinky-dink club. I am an artist, not a prostitute! I am here to make quality music. If I get paid, cool! If I don't, I'll still make music! God has sent me on a mission to get your head right. He has granted me with the power to move people. I'm going to use this power to the best of my ability. Even though the devil keeps trying to throw salt in my game. Have you ever noticed there is always someone pushing you to do wrong. They tell me, “don’t nobody want to hear that positive crap"! Trying to turn me toward the commercial world. If you rapped like him, you would be famous already. Souls being sold for a Bentley and a watch! A lot of folks are telling me lyrics don't matter anymore. If you are listening to the junk on the radio, you are right! I call them parasites! Rappers who attach themselves to old beats. Then ride them until they die. There is no thought put into songs these days. Hip Hop has no soul. Folks keep telling me that the beat is the only thing that matters. If this is true! Why does anyone bother to rap over it? Beats are important, but the real rappers can survive without one. I remember a show I did. The soundman shut down my DJ thinking it would stop our show. He forgot to turn off the mic. Rock the house! I hate when people say they know what sells! No you don't! You just know what's selling right now. You want me to be like him because he's making big money. It's impossible to tell what turn the fans are going to make. That's why all of the labels have artists that sound a like. When they figure out what the crowd is digging, they all go out and get one. Current state of Hip Hop, pitiful! It's just like the rest of life. We forgot where we came from, now we are lost. We don't know which path to take. We will continue to be lost until we take a look back. Pick up the history books, starting with the Bible.
