Press Reviews
Now this lot can really put a song together. Coming over like early REM with a touch of the Verve and angsty Nirvana thrown in for good measure, everything fits together. Tight on stage and possessing a sufficient range of songs to ensure they’re always interesting but never pigeonholed, Paperman got the basics right by being technically very good and then added the finishing touches of beautifully crafted, not always obvious tunes. My only slight quibble concerns a lack of harmonies, which would add to an already strong vocal presence, but overall highly effective. (Justin Coleman, 28th March 2001, Adhoc Magazine) |
