Artist History
I started playing the piano at an early age, taking my exams and mainly playing classical music. I also play the violin and took exams for this. I decided to take up guitar to try and widen my musical knowledge, I taught myself a few chords and watched how my Idols did it. By the age of fourteen I was playing piano and guitar in a big band jazz outfit, after which I learnt to play blues piano. In 1995 I went to Music College to study Popular Music. Here I learnt recording techniques and music technology. This is also where “nomio” was created. Having discovered that my main interest in music had shifted to a more technical level, I started to write hip-hop and Drum ‘n’ Bass. I gigged venues in my area and developed my programming skills, and recorded a CD of four tracks in 1997. This was my first real recording, and it took just 36 hours to write, perform, mix and produce. Since then I have been working in multimedia, creating web sites and doing graphic design. I have built up my equipment at home, which I keep at a modest level, and have recorded a double CD containing 19 tracks, ranging from hip-hop, d ‘n’ b and dance. I have played a few gigs with my new music, but I mainly concentrate on recording and writing. I am in the process of creating my web site, and have completed a couple of videos for my tracks. |
