Artist History
KINSKI SPIRAL is Ray Carmen and Bob Ethington, who
write songs, play instruments, and record the results.
To assist them in their plan for world domination,
they enlist the support of a variety of singers,
string and horn players, and sound wizards. The
results, for better or worse, reflect the diverse
tastes of Carmen and Ethington - Ray a pure popster,
Bob a dark primitive, and both connoisseurs of
obscure noises and varied genres. Indeed, it is this
latter confluence of interests (the realization of
a shared affection for Robert Wyatt's music dates
the beginning of their friendship), coupled with
utter respect for one another's er, um...eccentricities
that is at the heart of the "KS experience".
Basically, Kinski Spiral is devoted to making music
they would listen to, be it ballads, rockers,
ersatz country, synth-drenched rhythmic exercises,
or simply experiments in pure sound. We hope you
enjoy the results. There WILL be more. And that's
not a threat, that's a promise. |
