Artist History
Hobex was formed in the spring of '96 by a trio of North Carolina triangle area veteran musicians - bass player Andy Ware, drummer Steve 'the Doctor' Hill, and guitar player/singer/songwriter Greg Humphreys. A soul, r&b, and funk influenced 3-piece inspired by the soul music of Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Curtis Mayfield, Otis Redding, James Brown, and Ray Charles, Hobex hit the ground running with their debut CD "the payback ep" - released in the fall of '96 on Phrex Records. |
