Many of 3E's songs are based on personal trials and tribulations while others are written to call attention to the fallacies within the norms and values of society. The music is designed to let the listener draw from it what he/she will and apply some sort of personal meaning.

Artist History 3E was formed late in 1999 by Doug Jones, Jason Peercy and Ben Kail as a way for them to express their creative visions and point out the hypocracy and ignorance in modern society. They quickly added Owen York and Dan Simpson and began writing their melodic, hard-hitting, politically minded music. Having won north-west Indiana's Battle of the Bands in 2001, the band moved to Indianapolis in order to spread their message farther.
