Artist description seth davis began playing his older brothers gibson acoustic at age 12, but instead of learning the requisite classic guitar-student songs, immediately began to pen his own collecting several hundred to date.he is influenced as much by new wave, eclectic & punk stylings by artists such as joe jackson, the knack & kate bush as by the beatles, the beach boys & bob dylan.davis has been playing bars & cafes in the ney york area for 10 years & fronted 2 acoustic quintets in the mid 90s.  he has performed in venues such as the bitter end, the fez, and cb's gallery in new york city, the kiosk in las angeles & in the underground of london.this album began slowly in 1998 & shelved until summer 2000 when davis made a whole hearted return to his "mostly acoustic" roots & finished the album.  the 13 songs that make up "without annette" cover an array of moods and styles while maintaing a common ground of warm & engaging lyrical & musical content.sethdavis.com will be up & running in may 2001 concurrent with the release of 'without annette'
