Artist History
KPUT are Ben DeJean, Hector DeJean, Steve Scholz, and Glen Keenan--identical quadruplets separated at birth. (The legendary fifth member of KPUT, Brian McDermott, was also part of the baby litter which produced the original four members, but it was later discovered that Brian was the progeny of another man who had impregnated their mother only minutes after the original four's conception.) After the foursome's separation, Ben and Hector were reunited when they were coincidentally both purchased by the DeJean family. Glen was abandoned in the jungles of India, and he was raised by wolves who gave him the name "Mowgli" as an homage to Kipling. Steve was also abandoned in the jungles of India, and was raised by sheep who gave him the name "Susan" to screw with his brain. Glen and Steve were later reunited when Glen attacked and bit off one of Steve's hindlegs. All four of them cataclysmically re-met when they attended the University of Iowa as biology class dissection specimens. In their kennel, the four soon realized that they were long-lost quadruplets because they all possessed the same birthmark--a birthmark shaped like a pair of lips, pinkish/reddish in color, and located immediately around their mouth openings. From this, they knew that their destiny was to band together and somehow use their mouths for fun and/or profit. They formed a troupe which wrote, recorded, accidentally bulk-erased, and re-recorded a radio comedy series called KPUT. They also have a website called KPUT Komedy Korner at www.kput.org. |

Press Reviews
"I laughed! I cried! I realized that I forgot to take my Prozac!"--Rex Reed, The New York Observer _________________________________________________________
"KPUT is...humorous, and the individual members have...charisma."--Leonard Maltin, Entertainment Tonight _________________________________________________________
"Thumbs up...MY ASS!"--Richard Roeper, Ebert And Roeper At The Movies _________________________________________________________
"They're not very funny. But they think they're funny--which itself is rather funny, considering that they're not really funny. So I guess they are a little funny...funny-LOOKING!"--Roger Ebert, who's just jealous because he's so fat while the members of KPUT are so slender and lithe _________________________________________________________
"When I said 'Thumbs up...MY ASS', I simply meant that I was not giving KPUT a thumbs up. You know, as if I was saying 'Thumbs up...NOT!' I didn't mean that my thumbs were actually up my ass."--Richard Roeper, Ebert And Roeper At The Movies _________________________________________________________
"Another winner! This year's hottest new stars! The edgiest, most satirical comedy group in the known universe!"--David Manning, The Ridgefield Press _________________________________________________________
"David Manning is a fake critic who was dreamed up by Sony Pictures, so you should ignore every word that comes from his fictitious mouth. In fact, all of these reviews are fake--including this one!"--Roger Ebert, who's just jealous because the fictional David Manning is better looking than he'll ever be _________________________________________________________
"I've slept with David Manning--and believe me, honey, he IS a dream!"--Rex Reed, The New York Observer _________________________________________________________
"I agree with Roger. Ignore all reviews by David Manning--& every other review that you see here. My original review said 'KPUT is NOT humorous, and the individual members have NO charisma.' But they changed my quote! And Rex Reed should stop writing film reviews and should be banished to writing only make-over tips!!"--Leonard Maltin, Entertainment Tonight _________________________________________________________
"Rrrowr, Lenny! What is up YOUR ass? You panned my acting in 'Myra Breckinridge', yet it is YOU who is now being antagonistic to ME! Perhaps you're a little afraid that you and I have more in common than just witty and urbane writing???"--Rex Reed, The New York Observer |
