Artist History
Go Kart Go was previously known by the title Levy 9 to any of the San Francisco club goers who might have caught one of their scarce performances in the past couple years. The band has been laboriously in and out of various recording studios for the past two years recording their debut CD "Run For Tin" -- and it shows. The description put forth by one writer as "a well produced Replacements" does set a fairly accurate picture, however, songwriter Eric Anderson has a song writing style all his own and is a substitue to no one. |

Press Reviews
Big Takeover - Run For Tin (CD Review) Skratch - Run For Tin (CD Review) "An honest to goodness alternative rock band with influences ranging from Buffalo Tom to Soul Asylum. . . .greatharmonies and strong hooks. . .A great band." Listen.com - Run for Tin (CD review) "San Francisco bike Messenger Indie Pop. An equal mix of timid optimism and punk fatalism colors cute melodies.Loud guitars and gentle weary vocals." The Independent - Run for Tin (CD review) "a yearning guitar vocal drive that recalls the Replacements and Sebadoh. The band suceeds in earnest rocking andcatchy songcraft, and tracks like "Nirvana (the state)" and "Ending My 20's" provide an offhanded anthemicquality that's still radio friendly." The SF Bay Guardian - Live Show at Hotel Utah "flaunting an honest pop-punk sound that withstood the venue's barebones environment. Gruff vocals and fuzzedout sounds from both guitars puntuatesd [the band's] vitriol. . . strong, four chord euphoria." Zero Magazine - Run for Tin (CD review) "Run for Tin is a well written indie-pop album that has tons of killer guitar harmonies mixed with the smoothvocal style of eric anderson. The recording is top notch from the musicianship to the production and this albumstands up to any major label recording." |
