Artist History
Freemartin is a four-piece melodic technical rock band hailing from the state of alligators and blast beats…sunny South Florida. With a complex mixture of post prog math rock and emo rock, these four stunning young males bring a new style of in-your-face rock to the table, with more time changes than your grandfather's clock. In 2001, Freemartin formed with Mike Descalzo (Guitar/Vox), Mathew Gossman (Percussion) and Adam Santucci (Bass). The three dashing individuals composed unique and catchy songs that earned them a fan base throughout South Florida. In the summer of 2001, Adam Santucci decided to leave the band to pursue a higher education at the University of Central Florida. The band then kidnapped their longtime friend, Shawn Rose and brainwashed him into playing bass for them. The now culturally diverse trio lost no steam and began to construct complex songs that gained them more notoriety throughout their hometown. Later that year the band was ready to record the songs they had worked so long and hard on, but something was missing. That missing element was the presence of a lead guitarist. The band looked no further than original member Adam Santucci. With the unit solidified, Mike, Mathew, Adam and Shawn headed into Studio 13 in May of 2003. There, the band recorded four songs with the legendary producer Jeremy Staska (Shai Hulud, Poison The Well, A New Found Glory). Look for these four tracks to be released on an upcoming EP on PumpkinEater Records in Late 2003, and an East Coast tour shortly following to support the band's debut release. |
