Artist History
Prior to FBS, each member had been playing music with different groups before coming together in 1996 to form The Toughluck Buddhas, a four piece original band. As The ToughLuck Buddhas, they planted their roots around the Ottawa area and performed shows with such groups as the Monoxides, The Barstool Prophets, This Minor Tremble, and The Headstones. After the loss of bassist James Law in the summer of '98, the band decided to change its name and write new material as a three piece. Thus, Fan Belt Seven was born. Drawing musical elements from bands such as Limblifter, Queen, This Minor Tremble and The Foo Fighters, the band transformed their style from uptempo alterna-punk into a more powerful, melodic rock sound. Their new cd entitled, "Friday Night PickUp" will be ready to be scooped up by the masses on May 26th, 2001. |
