Artist History Christafari was founded by Mark Mohr (lead vocalist, producer, and key songwriter) in 1989. Although the line up of members/partners has changed throughout the past 11 years, Christafari stands stronger than ever. Backed by the Soul Fire Crew since 1997, the music, ministry and message of their last four albums and live performance is more genuine, dynamic and powerful than ever. Christafari was the only reggae band to play at the 1997 Presidential Inaugural Ball. They were given the honor of a Dove nomination (1996) and were nominated for Reggae Album of the Year by the Tamika Awards (1997). In 2000 they were nominated for four Marlin Awards (Bahamian Music Awards); Caribbean Group Vocal Performance of The Year, Caribbean Duo Vocal Performance of The Year, Caribbean Reggae/Dancehall Recording of The Year, and Caribbean Album of The Year.
