Artist History
It was a dark and stormy night in February of 1999. A loud screaching could be heard coming from the basement. As Mike unleashed on the guitar, Price quickly followed Mike's chord progressions with phat bass lines, I did the best I could at adding a drum beat, and "Adrian" added the vocals. The band was born. At first all we would (and could) play were remakes. After moving locations we finally settled on a permanent place to practice. A couple of months went by and we had gone through band names like Mexican food goes through your bowels. At first we were Premium Addiction, then Rubberhead Phifer, and then we were Lemp Harrison. Nothing seemed to stand out though. Well we decided to have our first show without an official name. A couple of days before our first show "Adrian" and I were on our way to work. We worked at a local ski resort, so we always took the employee bus up to work. While on the bus we were thinking very hard about what our band name could be. As we were looking around the capacity sign on the bus stuck out, "CAP. 66." We then realized that we had found the name we were looking for. But "CAP. 66" just seemed kind of weird. We needed to make it our own. So we decided that at our first show, we would count the number of people that showed up. Thanks to our friend Tyler, who counted each person at the top of the stairs. Including us, the band, there were 33 people at our very first show. The capacity was 33 people. We then became "CAP. 33" and were the biggest thing since shoes. Thanks to all of those original thirty-three, you know who you are. Under the name CAP. 33 we received much appreciation from our fans (friends) at many shows. We began to play shows all over Boise. Summer rolled around and we were given the opportunity to play even more shows. About halfway through the summer "Adrian" came to us and told us that he would be leaving for a year to Ecuador. He was just going to go live there for a year and go to art school. Well, that's when we decided to record our first CD. Looking back upon that experience we all wish that we would have used another studio, but oh well. On a hot August night we went and recorded in a dumpy little place in Caldwell, ID. We were so stoked. After completing the recordings and then getting the CD's pressed, we were ready to play our CD release show. On the night before "Adrian" left to Ecuador we played a show at Edward's 21, and released our first CD. The crowd went crazy. We sold CD's like mad and then gave "Adrian" a grand farewell. CAP. 33 had dissapated.....................................About two months had gone by and the success of CAP. 33 was slowly dying. Mike S., Price, and I decided that something must be done, CAP. 33 must be resurrected. We began practicing again. We realized that we could not perform under the name CAP. 33 without "Adrian". While we were deciding what name we were going to be, images of the horse races popped into our heads and the name Trifecta was glorified. Trifecta had resurrected the music of CAP. 33. Shows were being played, fans were listening, Mike Price's shed was rockin'. The whole time that Trifecta was kickin' ace "Adrian" was still back in Ecuador. We quickly found out that "Adrian" would not stay the whole year that was anticipated, but that he would be back in February of 2000, a year after our formation. About the same time that "Adrian" got back I received the news that I would be attending college in Utah. With only about 7-8 months left for us, we were quick to grab as many shows as possible. With shows almost every other weekend we were becoming very tired, so we took a break from shows and started to make up some new material. We came back into the scene with a strong force, we won a local battle of the bands and received a cash prize. By this time we were smart enough to throw all of the money that we earned, as a band, into a band jar. School got over and summer entered our lives. We were asked to play a show called "Summerfest". This was one of the best and biggest shows we have ever played. With about 1500-2000 people entering and exiting the party, we probably played in front of a good 500 person sized crowd, althoug about 1000 people could hear our music about 500 stayed around the stage area. This was a tight show. Well, summer went on and we played more shows. As the end of summer was nearing we decided to record another CD. This time we carefully decided where to record at. As we entered the studio Jeff Beers greeted us and from then on we knew he was the right guy for the job. We finished up in the studio and then pressed the CD's. "It Was Like That When We Got Here" was complete, but would the fans like it? The fans went crazy for the new CD. Everyone loved it. Well, I went off to school, Mike moved down to Salt Lake, and then "Adrian" and Price moved down to Provo. CAP. 33 had been reunited. We played a couple shows down in Provo and then Price and "Adrian" moved back to Boise. By this time we had made up some more songs and were anxious to lay them down. When we all came home for Christmas break we called up Beers and went back into the studio to record our third album, "Oh The Humanity". Our fans were very surprised that we had recorded another CD, they went crazy over it. That brings us to right now. Since "Oh The Humanity" I went back to school, "Adrian" and Price stayed in Boise, and Mike moved back down to SLC. We have played a couple of moreshows. Our good friend Cory left to Chile for two years, and "Adrian" is headed back to Ecuador for two years. This past weekend (3/24) we had the last show of CAP. 33 in Boise forever. We had a farewell show for "Adrian" before he left for Ecuador. Trifecta will continue to progress, but CAP. 33 will live on forever in the hearts and minds of all of our fans and especially us. Thanks to all our homeys who have supported us the past two years.
