Artist description
Brad Naprixas is a singer/songwriter stationed in New York City. His creative career stems from a past of the arts. While only adept at one instrument, Brad understands and orchestrates every instrument to a fine tuning. The music is fine tuned to every intricate detail, picked up by Brad's naturally heightened hearing, which also gives perfect pitch to his 3-octave voice range. Brad studies music from around the world to apply to his own, including Classical, Indian, Japanese, and many variations on the modern sound. |

Music Style
A combination of the loud, the etherial, and the energetic, Brad Naprixas takes the essence of music from a mysterious, but not essentially darker, side of the world. Though influenced mostly by mainstream rock, it is an innate behavior that Brad puts such a foreign twist on modern styles. Coupled with his deep, sharp voice, he ranges from the gentle to the sinister, and what is said is sincere. Whether the tempo races or strolls, there is an energy always prevalent in the music. |

Artist History
The decision to create music came in August of 1999, backed by several casual songs written, some for the internationally acclaimed internet comedy radio show "Planet of the Grapes," of which Brad is a cohost. Justin and Jared, whose futures were envisioned in the music industry, were more than happy to work with their childhood friend. Originally, the three were to be a band acting as a single unit, writing and performing music as a whole. However, the three found that they could produce even more, original pieces as both a single unit and singular artists. Brad Naprixas wrote his own music; Jared and Justin formed Red Tin. Combined, the three artists make up The Derek LaPenna Quartet. The music had been written and recorded in the bedroom of Brad's apartment in the Bronx. Songs have been recorded and re-recorded, new equipment was bought, and beds were disassembled, all to be able to have a few days of time-restrained production, but in the end, it was worth it. The music spread as quickly as the news of the constricted recording conditions, and admiration came from fans across the world, especially in Europe and Japan. While tours are not yet on Brad's mind, the open road may soon be inevitable. Until then, Brad continues to write and produce new music, sacrificing time and sleep for the moment of inspiration. |
