Artist History
The man behind the brutal mask of Encryptor "A one man project". "It took one man to deliver a people. One man to enslave them. One God to freethem again."-PhilPhil Diez, the founder of the Christian Death Metal project, Encryptor, was born on the dar, wet morning of July 11, 1980, year of our Lord. Phil isoriginally from the Republic of Panama (one of the Latin American countries withthe worst metal scene in the hiistory of Latin America). He has one oldersister, Debbie, and loves his mom and dad. Phil is currently attending EasternCollege in St. Davids, PA. Having gone to US Army schools in Panama, Phil isskilled in the art of poetry, music composition, and extreme metal studies. Hebecame a Christian at age 17 and joined the Christian Death Metal masters,Ministros del Santuario, a notorious carnivorous Death Metal ministry in Panama. There, he was the master composer and director, being used by God to catapult theband into a Metal Ministry devoted to the youth in Panama and Latin America. Ministros del Santuario will release their first CD in 2001. Phil is currentlysingle and looking! The Birth of Encryptor:"God gave me a vision of victory, a vision of metal, Christian DeathMetal." Phil was having trouble finding musicians with his brutal close minded DeathMetal vision, so he decided that he was going to do this by himself with God'sprecious help. Encryptor shed its pwerful roots on December of 1999 in theidealistic mind of Phil. Three songs were recorded in January of 2000, threesongs in July of 2000, and two songs in August of 2000. Now Encryptor has eightsongs for the upcoming release. Encryptor is much more than a project, it is aministry due to the Grace of God. Praise his Holy Name! The influences and elements in the music vary. Phil makes sure that apredominant element of Death Metal brutality is present all throughout the music,he chooses riffs wisely, to make sure that the music stays brutal, and he makessure that his songs don't all sound the same, maneuvers, or stringy melodic tunesthat are typical of Death Metal. Suffocation is one of my main infuences when itcomes to brutality and blast beats. Incantation is another band that hasinfluenced the mystic and slower doomy approach that sometimes appears inEncryptor songs. Monstrosity is also another influence, mainly in the guitar andInternal Bleeding can als be counted in as a minor influence. Dying Fetus haskind of influenced my vocals, adding the grindy double vocal effect. Encryptoris not a rip off band or a copy band. The sound of Death Metal that you hearwill not be heard again. |
