Musical Influences Everything

Artist History My musical journey began at age 9 when I began playing my best friend's Muppet drum set. In high school I picked up keyboards and guitar; finally in my 20's I started to sing and put everything together on a 4-track recorder. My musical likes include every genre from Big Band to Mayan Folk. I started the Vapor Azul project, Vapor Blue in English, about 3 years ago. Knowing that the Spanish Rock genre was still in its infancy in the American market, I saw an opportunity to bring my music to an open-minded audience. My style is essentially Rock-Pop. In to the mix I have put some traditional Spanish ballad, Ambient, and straight Pop styles. I'm not afraid of experimenting with different styles, but I have a core mix of guitars, drums, and vocals that are the signature of my sound. My ideology is this, "I write what I want but always keep the audience in mind." My first CD, Aire, focuses on capturing a broad range of listeners. With subject matters like love, the earth, and extraterrestrials, the lyrical content of the songs are both entertaining and pleasing for those who understand Spanish. For listeners who cannot understand the lyrics, the music and emotion in the songs are exciting, diverse, and will spark an interest in the Spanish language.
