Artist description
QUANGO are a 5-piece band from Cornwall, U.K. combining keyboards and sampling technology within a guitar, bass and drums set-up to create a unique style of music. There are still new forms of expression to be explored within rock music, so rather than dressing up old music in new clothes the QUANGO philosophy is 'learn from the past but create the music of the future'. It is difficult to pigeon-hole the band's work into specific categories, but QUANGO is emotive, dynamic, uncompromising, yet still accessible. |

Artist History
QUANGO was formed in 1995 by singer Neil Roberts and drummer Marc Tresidder, recruiting Carl Rayner (guitars) and John Elliott (bass) to complete the original line-up. The addition of keyboardist Simon Cooper in 1998 has reinvented the band's sound and QUANGO has proved a consistently popular draw on the U.K. live circuit, also memorably appearing at the Lorient Inter-Celtic Festival in France and the Lizard Eclipse festival in Cornwall. 1999 has seen the creation of QUANGO's own label 'Autonomy' and the official QUANGO web site at http://dspace.dial.pipex.com/scoop/quango/. QUANGO are solely represented by the Moonlight Agency, who can be contacted on (00 44) (0)1752 262200. |
