Pomegranate is a three piece band from Oakland, California. Pomegranate’s music has been called "slow-burning," and as one reviewer noted "could easily be dismissed by some . . . but if you’ve got the patience to go the distance you’ll be duly rewarded." Melinda Newman of Billboard magazine agreed when, she chose Pomegranate as one of the top unsigned bands in the country, saying "their music grew on me." |

Artist History
Pomegranate was formed in 1993. Pomegranate’s debut album, Don Ron, released by the now-defunct Treat & Release Records, was well received by college radio and immediately went into the top-ten college radio adds (CMJ). Their music has been heavily featured on college radio, including the influential KCRW in Los Angeles as well as being featured on commercial radio specialty shows, including WPUP in Athens, KWOD in Sacramento, KISF in Kansas City, KFOG and KITS in San Francisco, and many others. The band completed a 22–city national tour in support of Don Ron, including on-air performances in Los Angeles, New Orleans, Athens, Georgia, and Boston |

Pomegranate has recently finished recording their as-yet untitled second album which has a release date of September, 1999. |
