Artist description
Mutt is a fusion of funk, punk and hardcore that
hits hard and never lets up. The bastard sons of
“Black Sabbath” and “Rage against the Machine” in
the midst of an adrenaline fueled steroid rage.
Each aggressive track on the 'Genuine Severed
Heads' CD will leave you breathless with your
heart pounding. The only thing more intense
than the CD is the live show. See it soon in the
New York City area. For all you Kiss fans, visit

Artist History
Mutt was formed in 1993 by the integration of two
of the best bands to come out Staten Island;
'Fungus' and the hard core monsters 'Sick Society'.
Mutt's sound quickly evolved into an intricate
barrage of funk/hardcore beats and screaming
guitars, but the true driving force behind the
success of the band is the impossible bass lines
and intimidating vocals. The band played
extensively along the east coast building quite a
reputation for their live performances. In 1995
the band took a break for personal and financial
reason, only to reform earlier this year. Mutt is
as of yet unsigned, but not for long. |

Press Reviews
Mutt, as a band, is an extremely tight collection of musicians who do not
forget their musical roots. I reviewed "Top Tomato" - an aggressive track
with great song structure that never loses the audience at any point. Most
Progressive rock bands today tend to go too far on tangents within the song
and lose the meaning or feeling of the song. Mutt successfully captures the
audience with this anthem of rage that dives into the subject of the world
and where it is going. Fast tight guitars, an intricate drum line not
afraid to hit those toms, and a great hook with the chorus are a few phrases
that help describe the song. Lets not forget the slapping bass behind the
breakdown towards the end of the song, it makes it impossible to stand
still. There's not many metal bands out there where you can still hear and
understand the chorus, and the vocals with this song allow you to sing along
the next time, also a clean use of the echo really came out nice during the
bridge of the song. I would definitely not be surprised to see these guys really succeed in the
underground scene. Hear them for yourself, and listen more than once, they
grow on you - Rick Breslin - Emblem - http://emblem-music.com
